The INTERdisciplinary Approaches to Communication and Teamwork (INTERACT) project was designed to improve communication and teamwork on general medical hospital units. The intervention consists of Prepared Nurse-Physician Co-Leadership and Structured Inter-Disciplinary Rounds (SIDR). Research, conducted at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) has shown improved teamwork and a reduction in the rate of adverse events as a result of these interventions. These efforts were supported by a grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. We are pleased to share content and material from the INTERACT project. Please contact us if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions. Thank you!
