Jenny Hixon, BS, CCRC
Research Project Manager
Jenny Hixon BS, CCRC, is a Research Project Manager in the Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Program. Jenny attended University of Illinois at Chicago where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She has worked in a variety of areas in clinical research at Northwestern since 1998. She has focused solely on pulmonary clinical research working in Asthma and COPD for the last 15 years.

Caitlin Murphy, BS, is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Program. Caitlin attended DePaul University, where she received her Bachelors of Health Sciences & Public Health. She has worked in different areas of research at Northwestern since 2019 and joined the pulmonary clinical research team in 2021.
Shafic Kakooza, MBChB
Clinical Research Coordinator
Shafic Kakooza is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Program. Shafic has a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) that he attained back in Uganda in 2017 at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He worked as a general practitioner and also participated in clinical trials at Mulago National Referral Hospital, which is the biggest hospital system in Uganda. When he moved to the United States in 2020, he worked with the Richard M Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI in Indianapolis. He also worked in research at University of Illinois at Chicago before joining Northwestern University in 2021.
